Chandigarh: In a surprising move, Punjab government on Monday appointed Counter-intelligence expert ADGP Gaurav Yadav as Special Principal Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

The appointment came as a surprise as this Prime post was usually reserved for an IAS officer.

Yadav, son-in-law of former Punjab DGP PC Dogra, is a 1992-batch officer. He remained on many prestigious positions during SAD-BJP government in 2016 but he held low-profile positions during Congress regime.
