According to the data released by the Meteorological Center Chandigarh, the record of the lowest rainfall has been recorded after 11 years.

The entire Punjab has been receiving average rainfall in February for a decade, but this time the weather was a bit more severe.

Last February, there was only 0.1 mm rainfall, with a huge difference of minus 99 mm.

In the last 11 years, rainfall in February was 137.1 mm, 20.3 mm in 2014, 31.3 mm in 2015, 6 in 2016, 3 in 2017, 13.3 mm in 2018, 72.1 mm in 2019, 7.3 mm in 2020, 2.7 mm in 2021 and 22.6 mm in 2022. Thus, february this year received the lowest rainfall, which is a record.

At the same time, on February 13, three cities of Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala had the coldest night, but during this time the record of 2012 could not be broken.

The minimum temperatures in these three cities this time were 3.6, 7.4 and 5.7 degrees Celsius respectively, while on the same day in 2012, Amritsar’s minimum temperature was 0.3 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 2.7 and Patiala 3.2 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological Center Chandigarh Director Dr. Manmohan Sharma said that this time february has recorded the lowest rainfall in the last 11 years. This time the lowest rainfall was 0.1 mm.
