London: Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest at the King George 6 Memorial Chapel after her last rites at Westminster Abbey with full state honours hereon Monday. The Queen was buried near the coffin of her late husband Prince Philip. Prince Philip, duke of Edinburgh, passed away last year.

Prince Philip passed away last year. The queen’s funeral was attended by over 500 global leaders, including Indian President Draupadi Murmu and her American counterpart Joe Biden, and royal families settled in different parts of the world. The Queen died on September 8 at the age of 96 at her residence in Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She ruled the Throne of Britain for 70 years.

Meanwhile, a two-minute silence was observed throughout the yuk as a mark of respect to the late Queen. The coffin containing the queen’s body, kept at Westminster Hall for the people to pay their last respects, was taken to Westminster Abbey at 11 a.m. local time. The Queen’s body was kept for five days at Westminster Hall in the UK Parliament.

Royal Air Force civil member Cristina Hiray was the last member to visit the Queen’s coffin. The Queen’s coffin was brought to Windsor Castle from Westminster Abbey. Around 2,000 people attended the funeral at the abbey. The last rites were broadcast live in about 125 cinemas and several major churches in the UK. People also watched the funerals on the big screen at Holyrood Park in front of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

It is worth mentioning that the British royal family had released the last picture of Queen Elizabeth a day before her funeral. The late Queen can be seen smiling in the picture released on Sunday.

London: Celebrities from all over the world have slowly started arriving to pay their last respects to Queen Elizabeth II. Meanwhile, former England football captain David Beckham also paid his last respects to the Queen. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star told media that he joined thousands of people heading to Westminster Hall to pay their last respects to the British queen.

Beckham, 47, was seen wearing a hat, suit and tie. He also appeared to stand in honor of the Queen like thousands of people. Britain’s longest-reigning queen died last week at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. His coffin was brought to Buckingham Palace via road and air from Scotland.

Westminster Abbey has a space of about 2000 people. For this reason, only heads of state and one or two guests have been invited to this first national funeral in Britain (UK) after 6 decades.

Royal families in Europe and several countries have confirmed their arrival at the funeral of the longest-serving ruler in the world.

Japan’s King Naruhito and Queen Masako will attend it. This will be his first foreign visit after assuming power in 2019. This would be a departure from Japanese tradition in which rulers rarely attend a funeral. The royal families of Europe are very closely associated with the British royal family and there is a blood relationship between many families.  For this reason, it is no surprise that many rulers will attend the funeral of the Queen.
