London: World leaders preparing to attend the most important and historic event in recent times in Britain’s history have been informed about strict protocols in place during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s funeral will take place next Monday, September 19, at Westminster Abbey in London.

According to Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) documents, all heads of state planning to attend the official funeral and their spouses have been asked to come via commercial flights instead of private flights. They have also been asked not to use helicopters.

According to the information, they have reportedly been told that they cannot use their official car to go to the scheduled event at 11 am local time at Westminster Abbey and instead they will be transported by bus to a location in west London.

“Westminster Abbey will be so crowded that it will be impossible to allow more than one vehicle, senior representative from each country and their spouse to attend,” the FCDO said in an official protocol message about the event.

In a document sent to embassies and high commissions located abroad, the FCDO said: “It is regrettable that due to the limited space for the last rites and related events, no other member of the chief guest family, employee or person accompanying them can be allowed to attend it,” it said. ‘

It said the head of state who cannot attend the function can send the head of the government or a senior minister as his official representative.

US President Joe Biden has told reporters about his plans to be present at the funeral. A few other world leaders have also confirmed of attending the funeral of the Queen.
