Amritsar: Former All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi paid obeisance at the Golden Temple in Sachkhand today. People were surprised to see Rahul Gandhi paying obeisance in a turban on his head.

While Rahul Gandhi prayed for the peace and tranquility of the country at the Golden Temple, he also prayed for success of his yatra.

It is worth mentioning that before starting the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Punjab, Rahul Gandhi has reached the Golden Temple to pay obeisance and seek blessings. The yatra will start from Fatehgarh Sahib tomorrow.

He was accompanied by LoP Partap Singh Bajwa, Punjab Congress president Raja Warring, Harpartap Singh Ajnala and other Congress leaders.

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) today passed a resolution to appoint Rahul Gandhi as the party’s national president. The resolution was passed at a meeting chaired by Hussain Dalwai, in which 310 delegates from the Chhattisgarh Congress (who will also vote to elect the party president) participated, state communication wing chief sushil Anand Shukla said.

The Chhattisgarh Congress had passed a similar resolution in June this year, saying Rahul Gandhi should become the party president.

Polling for the post of Congress president will be held on October 17 and the results will be declared on October 19. The Congress said if a candidate is left in the fray after withdrawal of nomination, the president’s name will be announced on October 8 itself.

The last election for Congress president was held in November 2000. Dalwai has been appointed as the returning officer of the Chhattisgarh unit by the All India Congress Committee.

Earlier, the Rajasthan Congress had supported Rahul Gandhi’s elevation as the party president, while the Gujarat Congress had also passed a resolution.

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday once again targeted the central government over inflation. He alleged that there was talk of becoming Vishwagurus by 2022 but the country was thrown into the fire of hatred. Rahul also said that the people are being suppressed under the burden of unemployment, inflation and taxes, against which the Congress is going to start the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.

In a Facebook post, Rahul Gandhi said, “Break the trap of inflation, Bharat Jodo! Today, the biggest problems in the country are unemployment, inflation and growing hatred. You will all remember the ‘very expensive’ jumla, but today the goods and services tax (GST) on food items is being collected from the public.

Rahul alleged that two crore youth were promised employment every year, but today the country has the highest unemployment in 45 years. The Prime Minister had said, ‘We will become Vishwagurus by 2022’ but today the country has been thrown into the fire of hatred. Criticising the central government’s policies, Rahul said that there are many issues that should be talked about, questions should be raised, answers should be found.

If the politics of malice, fear and vendetta is done by the government to raise the issues of the people, then we are ready to face everything. Do as many attacks as you have to do on me to speak the truth, I will not back down.

Rahul Gandhi said that the public is being burdened with unemployment, inflation and tax, against which we are going to start bharat jodo yatra. I am not alone in this fight, I have every citizen of the country with me and we will all connect India together.

New Delhi: Congress MPs led by Rahul Gandhi staged a demonstration at Vijay Chowk here against the enforcement directorate ‘s (ED) questioning of Sonia Gandhi.

During the demonstration, Gandhi said that India is the police country and Modi is its king. The party, meanwhile, said the police have detained Rahul Gandhi during the protest.

Earlier, Congress President Sonia Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here today for her second round of questioning in the alleged money laundering case related to the National Herald.

Gandhi, accompanied by her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, arrived at the federal agency’s office on APJ Abdul Kalam Road in central Delhi around 11 am.

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is visiting Moosa village to meet family members of Sidhu Moosewala, who has been gunned down in broad day light on last Sunday by unidentified assailants near his village in Mansa.

Sidhu was a popular Punjabi singer and had unsuccessfully contested previous assembly elections from Mansa on Congress seat.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਸਮੀਕਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਫੇਰਬਦਲ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਮੰਡਰਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਜ਼ੋਖ਼ਮ ਦਾ ਸਬੱਬ ਬਣ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹਾਈਕਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦੇ ਪੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਹਰੀਸ਼ ਰਾਵਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ ਭਰਮ ਫੈਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬਦਲੇ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਦੇ-ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਖਾਸ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਨੇਤਾ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਨੇਤਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ 2022 ਵਿਚ ਜਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਹਿੱਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਘਟਨਾਕ੍ਰਮ ਦੇ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਮੀਕਰਣ ਬਦਲੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਹਾਈਕਮਾਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਜ਼ੋਖ਼ਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁੱਕ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
