Ottawa: The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, congratulated the United Kingdom’s new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

“Canada’s partnership with the United Kingdom, one of the strongest relationships between any two countries in the world, is defined by our rich shared history, our close friendship, and an unwavering commitment to human rights, democracy, and the rules-based international order,” Trudeau said in a statement.

He said that this includes our close partnership through the United Nations, international financial institutions, and other multilateral organizations. We are the only two countries to be members of the Commonwealth, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, G7, and G20.

“I look forward to working with Prime Minister Sunak to strengthen this relationship as we continue to address ongoing global concerns, including Russia’s illegal and unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine, economic uncertainty, and climate change. I also look forward to collaborating with Prime Minister Sunak to bolster our important economic relationship as we negotiate a comprehensive, ambitious, and inclusive Canada-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement, as well the U.K.’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. Together, we will remain focused on creating good middle-class jobs and opportunities for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic, while driving economic growth that benefits everyone.

“I wish Prime Minister Elizabeth Truss all the best in her future endeavours.”he added.

London: Rishi Sunak, who has received education from the world’s renowned educational institutions like Oxford University and Stanford University, will become Britain’s first Prime Minister of Indian origin.

Rishi Sunak, who has been elected as the new leader of the Conservative Party in Britain’s historic race for leadership, will meet King Charles III on Tuesday to take charge as the country’s first Indian-origin prime minister by evening.

Now that Rishi Sunak is set to become the PM of Britain, it is expected that Sunak will not repeat the mistake of Liz Truss in the cabinet formation, where she had raised an entire army of her loyalists in the government.

According to the local news reports’, it is feared that Britain’s Defense Secretary Ben Wallace may be discharged. Not only this, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Wendy Morton and Ranil Jayawardena may also fail to make it to the Sunak cabinet.

It is believed that Jacob Rees-Mogg is on the hitlist among those sacked by Rishi Sunak. Sunak is also likely to induct some of his loyalists into the cabinet.

According to the report, Dominic Raab can join rishi sunak cabinet. Jeremy Hunt is also likely to remain chancellor. Apart from this, it is believed that Sajid Javid, Mel Stride and John Glenn, who are among Sunak’s loyalists, can also be included in the cabinet.

Penny Mordant can also be given a place in the Sunak cabinet. Also, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock may also return. It is believed that after Tuesday afternoon, the picture will be clear who will be in the Sunak cabinet and who will see the way out.

London: UK’s Prime Ministerial candidate Rishi Sunak has said that he wants to change the relationship between Britain and India to make them bilateral so that UK students and companies can have access to India. The former chancellor welcomed people by saying “Namaste, Salaam, Kem Chho and Kidda” at an event organised by the conservative friends of India (CFIN), a migrant organisation in north London.

Most of the British Indians participated in the event. “All of you are my family,” he said while addressing the people in Hindi.

“We know that the relationship between the UK and India matters a lot,” he said, responding to a question from CFIN Co-Chair Reena Ranger on bilateral relations.

He said, “We are like a bridge between two countries. We all know that the UK knows the opportunities to work and sell in India, but in reality we need to look at this relationship differently because there are a lot of things that we’re here in the UK. We can learn from India.”

“I want to make sure that it is easier for our students to go to India and study there, it is easier for our companies and Indian companies to work together because it is not just a one-way relationship, it is a bilateral relationship and I want to bring about such a change in this regard,” Sunak said.

London: With just two weeks are left for voting for the Conservative Party leadership election in the UK, Rishi Sunak’s team is cashing in on the status of ‘underdog’ (potentially defeated candidate) in the run-up to Boris Johnson’s successor and released a video in this regard.

The video, which was first used in Manchester on Friday night, shows him addressing various campaign events and party members. Whoever the party members elect as the leader will take over as the British Prime Minister on September 5.

Sunak is constantly campaigning for his candidature

Sunak tweeted with this video and said, “I will continue to fight for each vote till the last day.” In the last 30 days of campaigning to succeed Johnson, Sunak has held 100 events to reach out to 16,000 party members.

In the video, the 42-year-old former British minister of Indian origin is interacting with voters. He is also seen taking a light nap and a voice is coming from behind, “Fight for every inch.” An underdog fights for every inch.”

Truss leading the election campaign

“They work hard, live longer, think smartly, underdogs never quits, they will do hard things and will never be complacent,” it said.

According to recent surveys and speculators, truss is likely to win. She has been campaigning for a tax cut plan to resolve the economic crisis amid rising prices in britain.
