New Delhi: At least 141 people have died in the cable bridge accident in Morbi, Gujarat while 177 people have been rescued so far.

Relief and rescue work is going on continuously to save people. At the same time, a case of culpable homicide has been registered against the bridge manufacturing company. The accident is currently being investigated.

State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said on Monday, October 31, 2022, that an inquiry has been initiated under the leadership of an IGP rank officer.

A compensation of Rs 6 lakh each has been announced for the families of the victims. He has said that all were engaged in relief rescue work throughout the night. Navy, NDRF, Air Force and Army personnel rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.

More than 200 personnel were engaged in search and relief work throughout the night.

The biggest thing in the Morbi accident has come out that 40 children are among the 141 people who have been confirmed dead. According to sources, the maximum number of children have died in this accident.

From the President to the Prime Minister, everyone has expressed grief over the accident and has also announced an ex-gratia to the families of the victims.

The family members of BJP MP Mohan Kundariya have also died in this accident. 12 family members of MP Mohan Kundariya’s sister died. Family members of the relative sister’s sister-in-law, four daughters, four sons-in-law and children died.
