New York: The man who stabbed Salman Rushdie on stage during an event in New York has said that he is “shocked” to learn that the famous Indian-origin writer is alive after the attack.

Hadi Mater, 24, said Rushdie was a man who attacked Islam.

He said that he doesn’t like him and he doesn’t feel that he is a very good person.

Matar told the media during his hearung that Rushdie has attacked Islam, people’s beliefs and the belief systems.

New York: Renowned English writer Salman Rushdie, who was injured in an attack on a man during an event in New York City yesterday, is on a ventilator and he may lose an eye during the surgery.

The condition of his liver is also bad after the ‘knife attack’.

Hadi Matar (24) from Fairview, New Jersey has been identified as the attacker who injured him at an event in western New York State.

Doctors said that Mumbai-born controversial author would lose his an eye while his liver was stabbed and damaged.
