Chandigarh: The Ludhiana police have booked Darmanjot Singh Kahlon alias Darman Kahlon following a tip-off given by gangsters Mandeep Singh alias Toofan and Mani Raia. Kahlon is believed to be hiding in the US.

He has been named for allegedly supplying weapons to shooters involved in the murder of Punjabi singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moosewala

Kahlon has been booked in an FIR lodged at Salem Tabri police station in June this year. Toofan and Raia told the police that Darman Kahlon had called them and gangster Goldy Brar had asked them to do so.

The accused also told the police that on the day of the murder, they were put on standby along with another sharpshooter Gurmeet Mita, a sacked police constable who was a national-level javelin thrower. They were told to respond immediately if there was any change in the conspiracy.

Before and after the singer’s murder, Satbir Singh, including Manpreet Singh alias Mani Raian, Mandeep Singh alias Toofan, Gurmeet Mita, were captured on CCTV. Both sharpshooters Manpreet Singh alias Mani Raia, Mandeep Singh alias Toofan are currently in the custody of Ludhiana police on a five-day police remand.

Chandigarh: One of the named accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case has been taken into custody. He is Jagtar Singh, a neighbour of Musa village of the late Punjabi singer.

At one point of time he was most close to singer Moosewala. He was detained by the police when he was on his way to Dubai from Amritsar airport. It is reported that a look-out notice was issued against him by the police.

Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh had approached the Mansa police on suspicion that he was indirectly involved in the murder.

Jagtar was booked by the police and his name has also been mentioned in the charge sheet.

Mansa SSP Gaurav Tura said he has been taken into custody by the police. A team of Mansa police has left to take his custody from Amritsar police.

Chandigarh: The murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala could have been solved within a few hours, but the laxity of the police gave the shooters a chance to escape.

Four of the six shooters were hiding in the fields of Khyala village after Moosewala was attacked on the evening of May 29.

The village is located about 10 km from Jawaharke (Mansa district), the site of the attack. Investigations have revealed that the Punjab Police could not quickly seal the borders with Haryana and Rajasthan, nor could barricades be erected.

According to sources, when the people informed the police about some suspects hiding outside the village, the police teams were dispatched to Khyala village. However, most of the police had to be sent to the Civil Hospital in Mansa where Moosewala’s fans were agitated and there was a fear of violence.

Apart from this, the police were also needed to handle the crowd near the place of the murder and the house of the singer’s village Musa. It is now believed that by the time the police reached Khyala village, the shooters had left the place or they could not search the fields properly. After Moosewala’s murder, gangsters Jagroop Roopa and Manpreet Manu snatched the Alto car and left for Barnala.

The two were killed in a police encounter in Tarn Taran about 50 days later. The other shooters , Priyavrat Fauji, Ankit Sirsa, Kashish and Deepak Mundi, had fled to Haryana but when they saw the PCR car behind them, they turned towards village Khyala where the Bolero car was stuck. The PCR vehicle passed by without stopping them and the shooters were hiding in the fields.

The shooters first made all this disclosure to the Special Cell of Delhi Police and now it has been verified with the Punjab Police with the statement of these shooters, which has also been mentioned in the charge sheet presented in the Mansa court.

No investigation has been conducted so far on the laxity of the police and the delay in putting up barricades after Moosewala’s murder and the PCR vehicle not stopping the Bolero.

Amritsar: The encounter between the gangsters and the police has ended near village Bhakna on the Gharinda-Hushiyar Nagar road after five hours.

Both the gangsters have been killed during the encounter. They have been identified as sharp shooters Jagrup Singh Rupa and Manpreet Singh Manu Kusa. Three police personnel are reported to have been injured during the encounter.

According to police sources the injured have been sent to a hospital for treatment. A journalist covering the encounter has also been shot. The police have cordoned off all routes to and from the village.

The gangsters were involved in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. They were hiding outside the village here and the police had received information about it. Following which police laid a trap.

Chandigarh: Sidhu Moosewala murder mastermind Goldy Brar, who is said to be in Canada, on Friday released a video claiming that Sidhu had offered Rs 2 crore for a settlement after the Vicky Middukhera murder.

The video shot in dim light and posted on social media, Goldy was seen with his face covered. He said he was forced to shoot this video after being hurt by the portrayal of Moosewala as a Sikh martyr.

Sidhu is not a martyr. He had created an image for himself through his songs, making repeated mistakes for which he was punished. We kept waiting for justice from the Indian judicial system but that did not happen, Brar said in a statement.

The law is for common people, not for big stars, leaders and their friends. These high people commit crimes and escape but common people like us are punished immediately, he said in a statement.

Chandigarh: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was targeted by about 60 gangsters and his supporters in a conspiracy. Investigations by The Delhi and Punjab Police so far have revealed that Moosewala’s murder was the result of mutual enmity between the gangsters. However, Moosewala himself was not involved in any criminal activity.

Hundreds of police personnel from Mansa and Bathinda districts and Delhi were also investigating the case. Data from millions of phones was scanned and the shooters were identified through the internet or CCTV to track down the issues. Three of the six shooters are still out of custody in spite of so much running around. The weapons used in the killing of Sidhu Moosewala are also yet to be found. The shooters had given the weapons to a man from Bhiwani (Haryana) who is yet to be traced.

Adding to the police investigation and the claims made by the accused on social media, the Punjab and Delhi Police say that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had ordered the killing of Moosewala from Tihar Jail itself. Four wanted gangsters Canada based Goldy Brar, Sachin Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi had hatched a plan to kill the Punjabi singer. They had a network in at least 10 jails in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

Another gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria had provided two shooters. Moosewala’s murder is the result of a rivalry between the gangsters. Lucky Patiala and Bhupi Rana of Bambiha group had killed Goldie Brar’s brother Gurlal Brar on October 11, 2020 in Industrial Area, Chandigarh. Goldie had announced to avenge the murder of his brother.

He, along with Bishnoi, had avenged the murder of his brother by killing Gurlal Pehalwan, who was associated with the Bambiha faction, near Jubilee Chowk in Faridkot on February 18, 2021. Subsequently, the Bombiha Group killed Vicky Middukhera in Mohali on August 7, 2021. The Bishnoi group retaliated by targeting Moosewala.

Chandigarh: The curtailing of Sidhu moosewala’s security had made it even easier for his killers to commit a crime, reveals the investigation of Punjab police. Phone conversations between the killers and Canada-based mastermind Goldie Brar suggest that the killers launched a swift operation after the order to cut down on Moosewala’s security became public on the afternoon of May 28.

According to a phone conversation between Goldie Brar and the shooters’ associate Priyavrat, Brar is heard saying that the security cordon is over, ‘Fauji, work to be done tomorrow.’

Foji is Priyavrat’ s nick name. He addressed Goldie Brar as a ‘doctor’. On May 29, around 4:30 pm, another phone call was made to inform the ‘doctor’ that Moosewala was leaving the house. Conversations recorded on May 29 after the murder reveal that the Foji called the ‘doctor’ and told him that job is done.

Sangrur: Lashing out at the opposition for making hue and cry over the alleged deterioration of the law and order situation, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said that the state is in safe hands now and the law and order situation is completely under control.

“The social bond of people in Punjab is very strong. We live in brotherhood and those who spread hatred find no place here,” CM said during an interaction with media persons here while campaigning for its candidate Gurmail Singh.

Asserting that all perpetrators involved in the gruesome murder of popular Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala to be nabbed soon, CM Mann said that the Punjab government is gingerly investigating the case in association with central agencies and five other states.

“Opposition is baffled by the dynamic functioning of the AAP government in three months. They are trying to mislead the people of Punjab with their scurrilous claims even criminals groomed during the regime of previous governments,” Mann said while giving a stern warning to elements trying to disturb the peace and harmony of the state.

Replying to a media query over the Agnipath scheme, CM Mann said that the BJP government is not only going to spoil the future of youth but it would also demoralise the spirit of army officials by implementing this scheme.

Stating that 3-4 months of training for youths under this scheme is not enough, Mann asked the BJP government to roll back this scheme immediately for the betterment of the country.

He said that BJP believes in rule and divides communities while AAP is a democratic party, advocating for peace and brotherhood.

Castigating the opposition for questioning the patriotism of revolutionary Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters, Mann said that it is highly condemnable that opposition leaders are disrespecting them.

Chandigarh: In a set back to Chief minister Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government, the Chief Justice of the High Court has dismissed the request of Mann to get Sidhu moosewala’s murder probed by a sitting judge has been dismissed on Saturday.

After Moosewala’s family demanded an inquiry into the murder case by a sitting judge, the home secretary had written to the High Court urging the Chief Justice to get the case investigated by the sitting judge.

Sources said the high court has dismissed the demand and a notice in this regard has been sent to the Punjab chief secretary.
