New Delhi: Former Congress leader Sunil Jakhar today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi in the presence of party president JP Nadda.

Jakhar had last week resigned from Congress and was miffed with party leadership for refusing to make him Chief Minister of Punjab citing that he has as a Hindu leader.

Meanwhile, after joining him in party, Nadda said that it is a matter of happiness that Jakhar managed to establish an identity away from the party and he has such a vast political experience.

Chandigarh:The Congress has suffered a setback amid the ongoing Chintan Shivir in Udaipur, Rajasthan as Senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar has decided to part ways with the party.

He said Good luck and good bye to the Congress party. Sunil Jakhar went live on his official Facebook page on Saturday and announced his decision to quit the Congress. The former Punjab Congress president questioned the politics being played in the Congress keeping in mind the caste equation and hit out at the high command.

He lashed out at Senior leader Ambika Soni and said that those who were in charge of the Congress in Punjab were not given notices and gave it to him citing he had damaged party base.

“If the government is not formed in Punjab because of me, why not terminated me? What will happen to me by giving notice. Happy to be with the sycophants, but make the decision,”he asked Party President Sonia Gandhi.

Chandigarh: Former Congress president Sunil Jakhar clarified that he has not any attention to hurt Schedule Cast community sentiments and did never issue such comments against the community, media reports said.

Jakhar has been facing criticism over his controversial statement and issued this clarification before media after paying obeisance at Sant Ravidas Temple, Sirgovardhan in Varanasi.

He, however, said that if his words unintentionally hurt anyone’s religious sentiments then I apologise for that.

Jakhar, however, did not respond to the notice sent by the high command. The one week period of the notice elapsed early this week and now the Congress high command is planning to summon him to Delhi, a senior Congress leader said.

However Jakhar who is furious with the attitude of the party and is likely also leave the party in coming days, Congress leaders said.

Chandigarh: Making serious remarks on the “character” of former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar levelled allegations of #MeToo movement against Channi.

During an interview with a news channel, Jakhar said that he has never accepted Channi as his leader as he knew him very well.

“Even after Metoo controversy with an IAS officer, Channi did the same act with a female journalist,” former Punjab chief Jakhar said adding that this is a very serious allegation and he is saying this with full responsibility.

The video clip of the interview has now gone viral on the social media. Channi, however, yet not reacted to the allegations.

Meanwhile, the #MeToo movement is a social movement against sexual abuse and sexual harassment where people publicize allegations of sex crimes.

Earlier, Jakhar also levelled allegations of Corruption against Channi and also launched fierce attack on Congress Rajya Sabha member Ambika Soni.

He blamed the Congress’ defeat in Punjab on Channi and Soni, who supported Channi as CM face.

Chandigarh: The results of the Punjab assembly elections have further widen the rift within the Congress party.

Former Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar allegedly levelled corruption charges against his party leader and former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

Jakhar questioned that how can a person who has got Rs 35 crore be poor.

The Congress party had made Channi the face in the assembly elections by terming him a poor and common man, which did not go well as Congress managed to get only 18 seats and Channi had lost his both assembly seats.

Jakhar blamed the defeat on Channi and Rajya Sabha member Ambika Soni, who supported Channi.

Lambasting Channi, Jakhar said that if Channi was actually an asset, then why was he not invited to the CWC? and why was he not invited to campaign in Uttar Pradesh.

Chandigarh: A day after senior Punjab leaders being blamed for Congress’s defeat in Punjab during Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Former PPCC chief Sunil Jakhar Monday hit out at the Congress party’s veteran leader Ambika Soni and former CM Charanjit Singh Channi.

Jakhar, while sharing two reference of news about CWC meeting and Channi’s nephew involvement in land mining case, Jakhar termed former CM Channi a “liability” and added his “greed pulled him down.”

Jakhar wrote in a tweet, “An asset – r u joking ? Thank God he wasn’t declared a

‘National Treasure’ at CWC by the ‘Pbi’ lady who proposed him as CM in first place. May be an asset for her but for the party he has been only a liability. Not the top brass,but his own greed pulled him and the party down.”

ਟੀਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬਿਊਰੋ-ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਝਗੜੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਲ ਕੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਾਂਡ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੱਚੀ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਅੱਜ ਦਿੱਲੀ ‘ਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਇਸ 25 ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਤਿੰਨ ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਸਮ-ਖਾਸ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਕਰੀਬ 25-26 ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਦੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਮਾਲਵੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਿਲੇ-ਸ਼ਿਕਵੇ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਸਵੇਰੇ 11 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਕਰੀਬ 5 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

ਇਸ ਬੈਠਕ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਲਈ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਕ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਾਖੜ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ੁਲਾਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕਿਹਾ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾਂ, ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਜਾਖੜ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਜਾਖੜ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਆਸਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਰੋਕ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਾਖੜ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਹਰੀਸ਼ ਰਾਵਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਉਪਜੇ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਕਰਨ ’ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਚਰਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਰਾਵਤ ਨੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਉਪਰ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ 2022 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ’ਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇਗੀ।    

ਗੌਰਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੋਂ ਨਰਾਜ਼ ਕੁਝ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਟਕਪੂਰਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਾਰਜ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਬਾਦਲ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਝਗੜਾ ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਦਿਨ ਵਧਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਗਾਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
