New Delhi: The number of applicants from India to Thailand for e-visa on arrival has increased seven-fold between March and October this year. This information has been shared by VFS Global, the agency that completes the paperwork for the visa.

The VFS said in a statement that there has been a huge jump in the number of people applying online for an on-the-spot visa from Thailand. The number of e-visa holders has increased seven-fold since the Indian government resumed international flights in March this year after the covid-19 pandemic.

VFS Global, in partnership with the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, launched the e-visa service in 2019 to get a visa on arrival.

Noel Swain, COO of Passport and e-Visa, VFS Global, said that the number of e-visa applications has increased and those who use this service are left scrambling at the main airports there to enter Thailand.
