New Delhi: If you are planning to travel abroad, then you need a passport first. The more powerful the passport of a country, the more people can travel to more countries without a visa. Passports from Japan, Singapore and South Korea are the most powerful in the world.

According to the ranking of passport index), it is known that this index ranks passports of 199 countries of the world. With a Japanese passport, you can travel to 193 countries without a visa. The Japanese passport has been the most powerful passport for 5 years in a row. Singapore and South Korea can travel to 192 countries without a visa.

 

India’s ranking is 87

In the third and fourth quarters of 2021, India’s ranking was 90. India’s position in the Henley & Partners rankings is 87th. Earlier, you can travel to 60 countries without a visa for the Indian port. Neighbouring Pakistan is ranked 109th. Pakistan’s passport allows you to travel to 32 countries without a visa.

 

On Arrival Visa

You get an on-arrival visa in some countries. The visa is issued when you get there. In Asia, Indians in Thailand, Indonesia, Maldives and Sri Lanka get visa-on-arrival facility. In addition, 21 countries in Africa grant visa-on-arrival to Indians.

New Delhi:A major accident was averted at the Kochi airport on Friday. An Air Arabia flight (G9-426) to Kochi, which left Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was reported hydraulic failure in the flight at the time of landing. However, the plane landed safely.

All the 222 passengers and 7 crew members on board are safe. The Kochi International Airport Authority confirmed this information.

An emergency was imposed at Kochi airport during the landing of an Air Arabia flight. The flight operations later resumed. The first flight left for Chennai from IndiGo.

New Delhi: India’s latest airline Akasa Air has got the aviation regulator’s (DGCA) permission to start commercial flights. The company, backed by billionaire and renowned investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, tweeted today about it.

The no-frills airline said in a statement that it would start operating the planes by the end of this month.

Akasa Air tweeted, “We are delighted to announce the receipt of our Air Operator Certificate (AOC). This is an important milestone, which has helped us start our flights and commercial operations.” The AOC allows a new airline to conduct commercial air transport operations.

According to aviation knowledge forum Skybreriy, the airline needs personnel, assets and systems to ensure the safety of its employees and the general public. AOC is given after meeting all the criteria of the regulator. Akasa Air, citing the AOC, said, “The grant of AOC is the final stage of a comprehensive and rigorous process laid down by the DGCA and signifies satisfactory fulfilment of all regulatory and compliance requirements for the operational readiness of the airline.”

Amritsar: Passengers were left stranded due to the cancellation of a Go Fast Air flight from Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji International Airport, Raja Sansi, due to sudden bad weather in Mumbai late last night.

When the agitated passengers demanded a reply from the staff of the flight concerned for the cancellation, there was no proper response and the passengers created a ruckus at the airport, passengers alleged.

Gopherst Air flight G8-2418 was scheduled to takeoff from Amritsar to Mumbai at 8.45 pm but was delayed by two hours. Passengers first created a ruckus for refreshments.

The aircraft was then prepared for takeoff at 11.22 pm. The aircraft also took off but landed again at Amritsar airport within 10 minutes. After this the staff themselves got confused and after some time the flight was cancelled. The passengers alleged that their flight was delayed by two hours. Even after the cancellation, the ground staff had no idea what to do. There was an uproar for refreshments. Finally tea and biscuits were served to the passengers in the name of refreshments, passengers said.

New Delhi: Surat, the financial capital of Gujarat and hub for diamond and textile business in India, attracts air travelers in large numbers. Considering the magnificent rise in passenger traffic, Airports Authority of India (AAI) is extensively working towards the holistic development of the airport with a project cost of Rs 353 Crores.

The development project includes extension of existing terminal building from 8474 sqm to 25520 sqm. In addition to the extension of terminal building, the expansion of apron from five parking bays to 18 Parking bays and construction of parallel taxi track (2905 m X 30 m) work is also in progress.

After completion of project, the new state-of –the-art extended terminal building will be capable of handling 1200 Domestic and 600 International passengers’ during peak hours making the annual passenger capacity of 2.6 Million. Equipped with all modern passenger amenities, the terminal building will have 20 check-in counters, five aerobridges, In-Line baggage handling system, five conveyor belts for arriving passengers. The new terminal building will also have a parking area with capacity for 475 cars.

The terminal will be a 4-Star GRIHA rated energy efficient building with sustainability features. The interiors of the terminal building will reflect the art and culture of Gujarat. More than 58% of the work for extension of terminal building is complete and the building will be ready by 31st December 2022.

AMRITSAR: Following Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann pushed for more direct flights from Mohali Airport to countries including Canada and United States, the Punjabi diaspora has showed disappointment over CM’s move.

They said that CM’s move will reverse the progress made towards the long-pending demand to began air service from Amritsar airport to Canada and US.

Holding a meeting with state civil aviation department, CM directed officials to immediately tie up with the Union ministry of civil aviation and airport authority for commencing direct international flights from Mohali airport, especially to Canada, US and the UK to facilitate NRIs.

Perturbed over the decision, diaspora settled abroad, Avtar Singh, a community activist based in Birmingham, UK, said that they have no option if flights stat from Mohali but it should not be done at the cost of Amritsar airport.

Similarly, Canada-based Anantdeep Singh Dhillon said that Punjab only holds 24.5% stake along with Haryana while 51% stake holds by Union civil aviation ministry. They have been working tiredness for past many years to start direct international flight from Amritsar to Canada, US and other countries.

Currently, direct flights are operated to Qatar, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and UK from Amritsar airport.

New Delhi: The use of CNG vehicles has now become expensive as prices are constantly skyrocketing.

The price of CNG in the national capital has increased by 69.60 per cent over the last year. Last year CNG was 43.40, while now the price has been increased to 73.61 on Sunday.

In the last one year, the price of CNG has increased 10 times, in which the price of CNG has increased only 4 times in the month of April.

The impact of the rising price of CNG is being seen on the pockets of the general public, in Delhi, all the same carts from autos to all the same carts run on CNG, due to which it can be expensive to travel by auto, like fruits, vegetables can also be expensive like everyday needs. New Delhi: Catering to a growing city of promising tourism options, Jabalpur airport is witnessing the rise in passenger traffic. The airport is now getting upgraded to provide better services to the air travelers of the region. The upgradation work being undertaken at the airport includes construction of New Terminal Building, ATC Tower, Technical Block, Fire Station Category VII, other buildings and Extension of runway & associated works to cater the operations of AB-320 type of aircraft. Madhya Pradesh Govt handed over 483 acres of land to AAI for development work in 2015, total land measuring to 774 acres.

The new terminal building equipped with world-class passenger facilities, will have the capacity to handle 500 passengers during peak hours. Spread over an area of 1,15,315 sq ft, the terminal building will have three aerobridges, advanced baggage screening system, modern food court in the landscape area and well-planned car parking for more than 300 cars and buses. The proposed terminal building will welcome the passengers with glimpses of vibrant Gond Paintings, local handicrafts, murals and popular tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh.

The new building will be built with eco-friendly, sustainable material and equipped with solar plant and energy efficient equipment. An efficient solid waste management system, reuse of treated water for horticulture purposes and rain water harvesting system with Sustainable Urban Drainage System are a few other green features of the airport upgradation project.

Apart from the construction of new terminal building, the upgradation work with project cost of Rs. 412 crores also includes extension of runway to make airport suitable for operation of Airbus 320 type of aircraft, construction of 28-metre-high new ATC tower and technical block (G+3) with all modern facilities, fire station (Category-VII) and other ancillary buildings like utility block, gate house etc.

New Delhi: Following decline in Covid-19 related restrictions across the world, Myanmar has announced to allow tourists to apply for visa after closing its borders for almost two years.

However, governments across the world still now advising their citizens to travel to Myanmar amid unrest in the country due to the military coup related violence.
