Ottawa: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will not be able to attend the National Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa on Friday due to his departure to Cambodia to participate in a summit involving Southeast Asian nations.

According to the disclosure made by senior officials, the Prime Minister will leave late Thursday evening to attend the meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to be held in Noam Pan. The Asian Summit, which begins on Saturday, is the first of four international meetings that Trudeau will attend.

The series of these meetings will continue for the next 10 days. Trudeau will then attend the G-20 summit in Indonesia, the APPC in Thailand and the Francophoni Summit in Tunisia.

“These summits are an important opportunity to put forward our priorities and Trudeau will be part of these discussions with other world leaders, including the United Kingdom, the United States and France,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.
