Taxi passenger dead, passenger wounded seriously in Surrey shooting

Ottawa: Three shooting incidents have been reported in Surrey, Canada today.

A man was wounded in the shooting incident. Police have not disclosed the identity of the person but he was a history sheeter. He was shot in a car outside a strip Mall, police said.

According to the press statement issued by the police, on August 9 just after the midnight, Surrey RCMP received a report of shots heard and a vehicle speeding away in the 14800-block of 76A Avenue. Officers attended the area, conducted patrols and located a residence with bullet holes. About 20 minutes of a fire, police received a second report of a shooting in the 9200-block of 163 Street.”

Giving information about the incident, Surrey RCMP said in a tweet, “Surrey RCMP is currently on scene following a shooting in the 14800 block of 108 Avenue in #Guildford that has left one 30-year-old man deceased, and a taxi driver with serious injuries. The

@HomicideTeam has been called and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP.”
