Hyderabad: Minister for industry and information from Telangana KT Rama Rao has extended financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh to Malika Handa, specially-abled chess player from Punjab from his pocket.
The move came after the Handa posted a video on Twitter accusing Punjab government and state sports minister Pargat Singh.
Following this, Rao assured to extend help and on Wednesday provided her a cheque of Rs 15 lakh along with a laptop.
He said that it would help her to focus on future competitions and also appealed union government to give her a government job.
