Temple Demolition: 3 officials including Rajgarh SDM suspended by Rajasthan government

New Delhi: The Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan has taken a tough stand and suspended Rajgarh SDM Keshav Meena and Municipal executive officer Banwari Lal Meena after the demolition of a temple in Alwar recently.

The Gehlot government has also ordered an inquiry into the entire episode. It is being told that the role of Rajgarh SDM Meena in the incident was also being investigated.

Alwar Board Chairman Satish Duharia was also suspended into the matter. However, the BJP seemed to be defending in his favour that he had not approved the decision to demolish the Rajgarh temples.

Beeda Commissioner Rohitashv Kumar is investigating the entire incident in Alwar. Kumar has been appointed as the investigating officer on behalf of the Gehlot government. The officials of the municipality will be examined by the Deputy Director of DLB Jaipur.

According to the administration, soon the investigating officers will reach the spot and take information and the temples will also be rehabilitated.

 

What the matter was?

 

In Alwar, Rajasthan, on April 17, the municipal administration had identified the encroached places and removed 35 encroachments. These included the 300-year-old Shiva temple. on which the bulldozer had run. At the same time, the nearby houses were also demolished by calling them encroachments. Many of the statues were broken after the bulldozer was run.

People said that the 300-year-old temple had been vandalised. The video of the bulldozer went viral on social mediaa and there were a uproar among people over the incident.
