Trudeau and four former PMs will join the delegation to London to attend queen Elizabeth’s funeral

Ottawa: A 15-member delegation from Canada will travel to London to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The delegation will include several prominent personalities as well as current and former Prime Ministers.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Governor General Mary Simon, along with four former prime ministers Stephen Harper, Paul Martin, Jean Christian and Kim Campbell, as well as former governors general Michael Jean and David Johnson will also be part of the delegation.

The national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Roseanne Archibald, Inuit President Tapirit Kanatami Natan Obed, Mattis National Council President Cassidy Karen will also join the delegation.

Actress Sandra Oh, who won the Order of Canada, Olympian Mark Tuxbury and Quebec singer Gregory Charles will also be part of the queen’s funeral.

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral will be held in London on Monday.

The funeral will be followed by a national ceremony in Ottawa in memory of the Queen, which will be attended by former Prime Ministers Brian Mulroney and Joe Clark. Apart from the Member of Parliament, many other important personalities will be present on the occasion.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced a federal holiday on September 19. In addition, a military parade and gun salute will also be given during the commemorative ceremony to be celebrated in Ottawa on Monday.
