London: Charles III will be officially declared emperor of Britain during a historic ceremony at St James’s Palace today.

This is a public announcement of the coronation of the new King. Charles, 73, the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, has become king after his mother’s death, and a meeting of the Crowning Council is traditionally convened within 24 hours of the Queen’s death.
