Unable to pay for iPhone, Karnataka man kills delivery boy

Bengaluru: A case of brutal murder of a delivery agent has come to light in Karnataka.

According to the police, a 20-year-old man first ordered an iPhone online. When the delivery agent came to deliver the phone mobile, the man was unable to pay the price of the phone.

So, he allegedly killed the delivery agent. Hemant Dutt stabbed EKart delivery agent Hemant Naik multiple times at his home in Hassan district on February 7, leading to his death. eCart is a subsidiary of e-commerce platform Flipkart.

According to the investigation so far, Dutt kept the body in his house for three days before being burnt near the railway track in a sack.

He had also purchased petrol to burn the body and destroy evidence, police said. Police launched a probe after the victim’s brother Manju Naik lodged a missing person’s report. Two days ago, he was also seen buying petrol in a bottle from a petrol pump.
