New Delhi: The apex court on Friday set aside the suspension of 12 BJP MLAs from Maharashtra assembly’s resolution for a year for alleged unruly behaviour.

A three-judge bench ruled that the suspension could have only been for the ongoing monsoon session in July 2021.

Observing the case, the court ruled that, there is no hesitation allowing these petitions as it is malicious in the eyes of law, unconstitutional and illegal.

Earlier, MLAs were moved by state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Parab and passed by a voice vote.
