Union minister’s son Ashish Mishra arrested in Lakhimpur Kheri violence case

Lakhimpur Kheri: Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra has been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police after questioning him for around nine hours by an SIT here on Saturday.

He was held in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on October 3, a day after the Supreme Court expressed dissatisfaction over the state government’s action in the case.

Accused Ashish Mishra son of BJP union minister had joined the investigation six days after Lakhimpur Kheri violence in which eight people died including four farmers.

Ashish arrived alone and went straight to the Lakhimpur Kheri police lines to join the investigation. He was named in a FIR that charges him with grave offences, including murder and criminal conspiracy.

As per the incident, a Thar Mahindra SUV mowed down farmers killing and four others.
