Washington: A special event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of India’s independence has been planned in Boston, USA, in which people from 32 countries will participate.
However, the highlight of the event will be the parade to be taken out on India Road and the 220-foot US-India flag, which will be flown by plane to this major American city.
Abhishek Singh, president of the Federation of Indian Associations-New England and organiser of the parade, said the 75th anniversary of Independence in Massachusetts will be celebrated as India Day. On August 14, the day will be celebrated with full celebrations at the State House in Rhode Island and on August 15 at India Street in Boston.
