Salt Lake: A 42-year-old man fatally shot his wife, five children and mother-in-law at a house in southern Utah.
According to the police, man, Michael Haight, opened shot at his family after his wife for seeking divorce from him in Enoch City, which is nearly 250 miles southwest of Salt Lake City, which has around 8,000 people. His wife had filed for divorce on December 21, officials said.
A statement issued by INOC officials said the bodies were discovered when police arrived at the house for a welfare check.
Officials in the Iron County School District said in a letter to parents that the five children attended the same school.
City Manager Rob Dotson said all of the victims were members of the same family and were known to all in southern Utah town. The matter is being investigated by the police.
