Vigilance issues lookout circular against Charanjit Channi

Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been booked in a disproportionate assets case. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has issued a lookout circular against him on Friday so that he does not flee abroad.

An alert has been sent to all airports. The case is investigated by vigilance. However, no case has been registered so far.

The Vigilance Bureau has already initiated an inquiry into the disproportionate assets case against him. Vigilance had received a complaint against him that he had used the state exchequer in his private gatherings and he misused government funds during construction of Dastan-e-Shahadat theme park in Chamkaur Sahib.

Recently, during a speech in the Vidhan Sabha, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann pointed out that Channi was found to be involved in irregularities and inquiries are going on in different cases.

Two days ago, Charanjit Singh Channi held a meeting of panches, sarpanches, block committee members, zila parishad members and other Congressmen of the area in Morinda. During this, he told that he had received an invitation from California, USA to join the Nagar Kirtan of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.

But he cancelled his trip after Czm Mann challaned him two days back.

He said he was not afraid of any action. He must take whatever action he has to take.

After the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh, the Congress high command appointed Charanjit Singh Channi the CM of Punjab.
