Vigilance summons former Punjab CM in disproportionate assets case

Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channihas summoned by the Punjab Vigilance for questioning in the disproportionate assets case. He has been asked to appear in the investigation at 10 am on Wednesday.

This will be Channi’s first interrogation by the Vigilance Bureau. Earlier, a Lookout Circular (LOC) has also been issued against Channi.

According to vigilance sources, a detailed report has been prepared about Channi’s assets. He was asked to furnish list of properties owned by him and it will be matched meticulously.

Last month, a lookout circular against him on March 7. After getting information about this, Channi released a video and said that he has canceled his program to go to the USA.

The Vigilance Bureau was investigating the assets of former CM Channi, his brothers and family members. In fact, the Vigilance Bureau had received inputs about some contractors being given unfair benefits by the former CM.
