Washington Sundar out of Zimbabwe series with shoulder injury

New Delhi: Washington Sundar, who has been struggling with continuous injuries for the last one year, will have to wait longer to return to international cricket.

He was included in the 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe but here too he did not get luck and he got injured. Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe series due to a shoulder injury, a report has revealed.

Washington suffered the injury while playing for Lancashire during a Royal London One-Day Cup match. It was expected that this injury will not be very serious but at the moment he has not been able to recover from this injury.

“Yes, Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe series,” a report quoting an official BCCI source said.

He suffered a left shoulder injury in the match between Lancashire and Worcestershire at Old Trafford during the Royal London Cup. Now he will have to go to the National Cricket Academy for rehab.

In the last one year, Washington Sundar has lost many series due to back to back injuries. He fractured his finger in July 2021. Due to this, he was out of the field for a long time. After this, in the series against South Africa in January, he could not play due to being found kovid-19 positive.
