Ottawa: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been attacked by furious protestors with gravel thrown during his campaign stop in the town of London in Ontario.
No injuries, however, reported to anyone in the incident.
“There were little bits of gravel and I may have been hit. No one should be doing their jobs under the threat of violence. There are health care workers across the country who are getting hassled and intimidated and bullied as they are going in to work to keep people safe and alive. We will not let them win,” Trudeau says after being pelted with gravel during campaign stop
The incident occurred when the Liberal Party’s Trudeau was preparing to board his campaign bus. Eyewitness said that some journalists accompanying the PM also got hit by small stones.
Trudeau has been campaigning across the country for the September 20 snap polls, which he had called in mid-August with an aim to gain a majority one in the government.
Meanwhile, this is not the first incident of violence on Trudeau’s campaign trail as earlier he had faced violent protests at several stops due to anger over mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations and some other issues.
