Woman, paramour killed Granthi husband in Ludhiana

Chandigarh: A woman along with her lover killed her husband in Jagraon, Ludhiana, Punjab three days back. Her crime came to fore with the help of CCTV footage.

The woman strangled her husband to death. A case of murder under Section 302 of the IPC has been registered against the deceased’s wife and her lover.

SHO of Hathoor police station Hardeep Singh said that Balvir Kaur, mother of the deceased Inderjit Singh resident of Jhorda village, told the police that her son was a granthi in Gurdwara sahib of the village. Around 9 pm on September 6, his son returned home after reciting from Gurdwara Sahib and after having dinner with his children and wife, he went to sleep in the room.

On the morning of September 7, she found her son Inderjit Singh lying dead on the bed and his wife Kirandeep Kaur wailing near the body of his deceased son.

She too had lost her senses after seeing her son’s corpse. There were no injury marks on the son’s body, due to which he got the son cremated after the police action of 174.

The mother of the deceased told the police that later when she checked the CCTV footage of the cameras installed in her house, it was found that the cameras were switched off from 11.30 pm on September 6 to 2.30 am on September 7.

Balvir Kaur said her son’s wife Kirandeep Kaur had an illicit relationship with her brother’s son Hardeep Singh. Kirandeep Kaur, along with her boyfriend Hardeep Singh, strangled Inderjit Singh. Police have arrested Kirandeep Kaur, while a search is on for boyfriend Hardeep Singh.
