Toronto: The Toronto Police Service on Sunday said that it will be working overnight to re-open road closures.
“We will maintain a visible police presence in the downtown core & will respond as necessary to keep the city safe,” police issued a statement adding that they will update locals in the morning.
They thank the community for their patience.
Meanwhile, yesterdays road closures remain in place with the addition of: Avenue Rd from Dupont St to Bloor St West, Lowther Av from Avenue Rd to Spadina Rd.
The fire department has also been enrolled to defuse the situation amid growing protest.
“It was my privilege to work directly with @jamesramertps and his team yesterday. The collaboration between @TorontoPolice and emergency services / OEM partners is impressive and something I’m very proud of. Thank you to everyone who works to protect public safety every day, “Matthew Pegg Fire Chief in the City of Toronto, Ontario.
