New Delhi: India’s Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Kiran Ankush Jadhav and Arjun Babuta clinched the gold medal at the ISSF World Championships in Cairo today after defeating China 16-10 in the final of the men’s 10m air rifle event.
This is India’s fifth gold medal in the championship. In the final, the Indian team got off to a great start, taking a 14-2 lead. The Chinese team bounced back to win the next four series to make it 10-14, but the Indian shooters won the next series to win the gold medal.
This is Rudrankksh’s second gold medal in his first World Championship at the senior level. He had earlier also won a gold medal in the individual event in the 10m rifle.
Meanwhile, the women’s 10m air pistol team has also made it to the competition for the gold medal, confirming another medal for India.
