New Delhi: The Yo-Yo test and Dexa will now be an important part of the criteria set for selection in india’s senior cricket team. Some other important recommendations have also been made during a meeting convened by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai to review the men’s senior team.
The budding players will also have to play in the domestic season to be eligible for selection in the national team.
“Keeping in view the preparations for the men’s FTP and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will work closely with the IPL franchises to monitor the emerging Indian players participating in the IPL 2023,” the BCCI said in a statement.
The meeting comes at a time when the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka begins in Mumbai on January 3.
The meeting was attended by BCCI president Roger Binny, secretary Jay Shah, skipper Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, NCA chief VVS Laxman and chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma.
