New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a semi-naked body of a man with his left wrist chopped was found hanging from a police barricade near the main stage of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) at Singhu border on Friday morning.
Deceased was identified as Lakhbeer Singh, 35, of Cheema Khurd village, Tarn Taran, in Punjab.
As per reports, Nihang Sikhs had killed him for desecrating a holy book. They dragged man to maim stage and later tied him with ropes before killing him.
In the incident, Haryana Police have detained some suspects allegedly responsible for the lynching man.
A senior Haryana government officer said some. suspects have been detained for questioning and accused will be nabbed soon, said the Director-General of Police, P K Agrawal adding that Police is monitoring the situation.
Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Vijay Sampla has condemned the incident and it was Heinous Talibani crime.
