China announces plans to issue visas for stranded Indian students after 2 years amid Covid-19

Beijing: China today announced plans to issue visas to hundreds of Indians stranded at home due to Covid-19 restrictions. Under this scheme, apart from business visas, visas of various other categories will be issued. “Indian students are welcome back to China,” Ji Rong, counsellor at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Department of Asian Affairs, tweeted. The Chinese Embassy in New Delhi has announced the opening of visas for the families of students, businessmen and those working in China.

According to the announcement, the X1-visa will be issued to students who want to study for a long time for higher academic education in China. This includes newly enrolled students and students who have stayed in China and resumed studies.

More than 23,000 Indian students were stranded at home due to visa restrictions during the corona period.
