Karachi: Manisha Rupeta (26) has become the country’s first Hindu woman DSP in Pakistan. Her aim is to take appropriate steps to ensure women safety.

Rupeta, who belongs to Jacobabad in sindh region, believes that the male dominated country Pakistan has the highest number of people with backward mentality and women are targeted for most of the crimes here.

Rupeta had cleared the Sindh Public Service Commission examination last year.

She had secured the 16th position out of the list of 152 successful candidates. She is undergoing training and will be posted as DSP in the crime affected area of Lyari.

Manisha Rupeta, who belongs to a middle-class family, said, “My sister and I grew up looking at the old patriarchy since childhood, in which it is said that if you get educated, you can only become a teacher or a doctor. Women in our society are victims of many atrocities and are targeted for many crimes.
