New Delhi: In Hong Kong, wearing a Covid mask was mandatory until now. This was the world’s longest Covid ban on the mandatory wearing of masks. The requirement of face masks will now end in Hong Kong from March 1.

Nearly 1000 days after the start of the Corona epidemic, people of Hong Kong will finally be able to get out of the house without masks from Wednesday.

Face coverings will no longer be required while travelling indoors, outdoors or in public transport. The requirement of masks everywhere in the world was abolished long ago, but in Hong Kong these rules were still in force.

The mandatory wear masks in Hong Kong has been scrapped at a time when the government is trying to woo tourists and foreign guests to revive the recession-hit economy.

“By removing the need for masking, we are largely resuming normalcy,” city chief executive John Lee said at a press conference on Tuesday morning. It will be very beneficial for economic development.”

Washington: The war against the Covid-19 epidemic is still going on all over the world. However, in most countries of the world, the restrictions regarding covid have been lifted. Meanwhile, the US is preparing to end the Covid-19 public health emergency.

The US will end this health emergency in May. A public health emergency has been in force in the US for nearly three years.

After the start of Corona in the year 2020, the then US President Donald Trump declared a public health emergency. Corona was at a peak in the year 2021.

The White House has announced that the US is ready to end the COVID-19 emergency on May 11, nearly three years after large-scale pandemic measures were implemented in the country to curb the spread of corona infection.

In 2020, then US President Donald Trump imposed a Covid National Emergency and Public Health Emergency, which was repeatedly extended by the current President Joe Biden.

Due to the Covid Public Health Emergency, Americans in the country received free corona tests, vaccines and treatment. Now the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said the announcements would expire in the coming months.

According to the information, the White House is now preparing to hand over the Corona vaccine to the private sector in the country.

New Delhi: Amid the threat of Corona, the central government has made RT-PCR test mandatory for travelers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand from January 1. They will have to upload their report on the Air Suvidha portal before traveling.

According to health ministry officials, passengers coming from these six countries will be required to produce a negative RT-PCR report from January 1. The Centre’s decision came a day after health ministry sources said the next 40 days are crucial as India’s COVID-19 cases are likely to rise sharply in January.

The central government had recently decided to randomly sample passengers coming from abroad at the airport. On Wednesday, the official had said that out of 6000 people tested, 39 people have been found positive.

“In the past, it was found that a new wave of the pandemic had hit India 30-35 days after East Asia contracted covid-19. Health ministry sources, however, said the severity of the infection is low. Even if there is a new wave of Covid, the rate of deaths and hospitalization of infected people will be very low.”

With COVID-19 cases rising sharply in some countries, including China and South Korea, the government has asked people to remain vigilant and asked states and union territories to prepare for any eventuality.

Beijing: Two Covid-19 patients died in Beijing on Tuesday, triggering a stir and authorities have closed parks, offices and shopping malls, tightening Covid rules.

Along with this, strict lockdown rules have been enforced in the city’s most populous Chaoyang district and people have been urged not to leave the house unless necessary.

Health authorities have urged about 3.5 million residents of Chaoyang district to stay at home, as it became the worst-hit region in the capital’s latest Covid outbreak.

Local authorities on Monday identified more than 1,400 cases in Beijing, with 783 infected people found in Chaoyang alone.

This is the first time Beijing has recorded more than 1,000 new cases a day since the pandemic began in late 2019 in the central Chinese city of Wuhan. Meanwhile, the death toll from corona infection in Beijing has now increased to five.

In a statement to state media on Tuesday, Hu Jiang of the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration said, “The local epidemic situation in China is serious and complex, the spread of the epidemic is accelerating in some areas and the difficulty of prevention and control is increasing.”

New Delhi: The 20th National Congress is going to be held in Beijing, the capital of China in October. Chinese officials are under a lot of pressure about this. The situation is that the authorities are quite concerned about of 10 Covid cases.

A lockdown has been imposed in Shenzhen, known as the country’s tech hub, after reports of fresh Covid-19 cases. The people there are very angry about this and come out on the streets to protest against it. Videos of people manhandling Chinese health officials are surfaced on social media.

Chinese forced lockdown

South China’s tech hub Shenzhen is becoming quite viral on social media platforms after Chinese authorities announced a forced lockdown on a handful of Covid cases. In the social media footage there, dozens of people are seen protesting against the lockdown.

The megacity of over 18 million people had reported only 10 Covid virus infections on Tuesday. Chinese authorities ordered residents of three districts to stay at home, as China stands by its strict zero-Covid policy.

In a clip from here, a woman is seen shouting, “Police are killing people.” “The subway station in Chawei was closed from 10 p.m. (1400 GMT) on Monday until further notice due to prevention and control of the pandemic,” the city’s metro operator said in a statement.

There is a lot of resentment among the people here about this and people are opposing it. Officials are also believed to be under pressure to quickly end the Covid outbreak ahead of a crucial political meeting in Beijing next month.
